The Art of Getting Everything You Want

Ask (The Right Question)

I love to think of my future self and me as “in cahoots”.  Together, we collaborate and strategize to create my ideal future.  This article explains how I make my future.

The first helpful realization was that my future was giving me hints.  Every day, all the time.  I was misunderstanding them.   I mistakenly thought that I was wanting and desiring outcomes.  However, these desires were actually visions from a future timeline.  This was a clue from my future self.  My dreams were not dreams, but memories of my future.

I don't want these outcomes because I have desires, I desire outcomes because future me is living them

Your desires are simply memories of the future.

Helpfully, my future self was radiating the feeling of my future back to me in the form of wants, desires, and preferences.  So when I visualize a blissful future or perfect outcome, this is not simply a desire; this is my future leaving me breadcrumbs.  Hints, clues.

I don't want these outcomes because I have desires; I desire outcomes because the future me will be living them.  This is why they are so vivid.  And to have everything you want, you need to ask how your future self lives in ways that you are not currently living.

When you ask, “Who is the version of me that has everything I want?”, you can start to structure a blueprint to build your dreams on.

Now imagine the version of you who has it all; they either added a trait to their personality or let a few fall away to achieve their current state.

  • What do they think?

  • How do they behave?

  • What is their environment like?

  • What are their values?

  • What did they leave behind?

When you ask, “Who is the version of me that has everything I want?”, you can build a blueprint to reverse engineer your future self into the present moment.

Presence

Once you compile your new identity, you will see a page that appears to require considerable effort.  But I have a secret.  This is one of my favorite secrets: your new ideal self emerges naturally through presence

Much of what is holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams is outdated programming, other people’s stories, and societal expectations.  But when you surrender to the present moment, all of that drops away easily.

The egoic mind that runs that old programming finds its most fantastic hooks in the stories of your past, and fears about your future.  It can transform your old hurts and mistakes into a meal, keeping you small in the face of overwhelming concerns about your future.   But the realm it struggles to find a foothold in is your present moment.

The reason is that the present moment is impossible for the ego to infiltrate because it is just a moment—a snap of the fingers. To ensnare you back into old programming, the ego needs time to conjure up a story. But in a mere moment, and then a new moment, and another new moment after that - there is nothing to get the momentum needed to get you distracted or distorted.

When you master the art of surrender, the egoic mind can’t do anything but fall away.

When you focus on the present moment you are in, over and over again, you master the art of surrender, and the egoic mind can’t do anything but fall away.  Now, that does not mean it will not still tempt you back into the past or the future, but developing the skill of self-trust and dropping deeper into presence will replace that distorted voice with stillness.

Another way to think of it is that when your mind falls back into old patterns of thinking, worry, or defensiveness, it disconnects from your body, and time seems to stand still. No progress is made in thoughts of the past or thoughts of the future. Or thoughts of what people would think or what society says you should do. No progress is made in wrestling the ego.

Embodiment as the Shell: When you solve current problems with the mind of the embodied future, you spiral up to your new timeline - instead of looping around in the old one.

Instead of integrating and iterating into your future, by making small changes everyday towards your dreams, you freeze. Like Han Solo in carbonite, because your mind is disconnected from your body, progress freezes, time stops, and so does your future. When you drop the egoic story of the mind that disconnects you, fall back into presence, you will find that time speeds up toward your desires as you make changes accordingly - even small ones.

Presence is keeping the stillness of the present moment with you for as long as possible, until it becomes your state of being.   Once you find a home in presence, you will start to hear a soft and gentle guidance that comes from your future self.  This guidance is kind, clear, simple, and often very patient.

This new identity, which encompasses everything you want, is found within the egoic mind.  To hear the roadmap to your desires, all you need to do is find stillness.  Not struggle, or berate, or painfully change.  Just drop down gently into your still, soft inner guidance.  The old you falls away naturally without a fight.  And the new you emerges lovingly.

A Few Notes on Truth

There is a name to the information that you get from your quiet inner guidance, and it is the truth. It is the felt, undistorted frequency of who you are beneath the programming of the egoic mind.

It is not a belief. It is not a concept. It is a resonance in your body that feels still, clean, and quietly certain.

Truth is what your future self is already living from.

Embodiment

After you develop a deep relationship with your inner guidance and stillness, you can merge your future timeline into the present one.

It helps to identify what the new self feels like in your body.  Next, we will identify the feeling when your nervous system is relaxed because you have everything you need and your dream life has arrived.  What tone does this strike in your body?  Is it a tone of relaxation? Independence? Excitement and adventure?  Devotion and loving union?

Your tone is your soul’s identity… held in energy, word, movement, and silence. This tone is the magnet of your future.  It is what you already were before the world told you to forget. Tone is not performance. It is truth, held. When your focus is primarily on the tone you are energetically emitting, your attention moves from the mind to the body (hence embodiment).

What Disrupts Coherence?

  • Saying yes with your voice when your gut says no

  • Creating while nervous instead of neutral

  • Taking action from hope or fear, not presence

  • Rushing to speak because silence feels too exposed

  • Consuming content that pulls you out of self-trust

  • Over-strategizing when your inner guidance has already given you the answer

When these happen, don’t shame yourself.

Just speak: “I return to coherence now.”

In order to dissolve this old timeline for the new, you must embody the version of you that has everything you want.  And the way you know that you are the embodied version of your future self is the tone you are emanating at any moment.  Once you identify the tone, you now focus on the frequency.

Frequency is a tone held for longer than it is not throughout your day.  Each day, you emit the tone of your future, and a frequency is formed that grows in your energetic field.  This is the field of your creation.  This magnetises events, people, invitations, surprises, and more energy to you.

Coherence

If you are an instrument, the tone is the note you are playing.  You want it to be clear, strong, and sound.  The frequency grows stronger when your thoughts, behavior, actions, and energy are all aligned with your desirable future.  This alignment is also called coherence.

When you are in strong coherence, your future unfolds before your eyes.  When your thoughts and actions come from the same frequency, you begin to replace the old timeline with the new one actively.  Think of coherence like a musical note.  When the instrument is precise, the sound is pure.  When you practice, the tone sustains for a more extended period.  And the more you align your environment with your future, the further your signal carries.

Once you are living 70% of your day in coherence with your future, it begins to stabilize in your personality.  The actions become automatic and the return to tone becomes easier and more manageable when life shows you things you do not want. Suddenly, you begin living as your future self, making decisions and attracting events that bring your perfect future life into being.

Allowing

When you find yourself living in coherence with your future, you will start to notice new events show up that feel like your future: invitations, information, new sales - all in the tone and frequency of your dreams and desires.

Much of what you build and repair in your life was done privately, so when your life begins to reflect that publicly, it can feel unsettling or unexpected. But sometimes “the new” will misfire in the mind as a threat, not because it is, but because it is simply unfamiliar. And if you are not still in the presence, you might reject the unfamiliar for the safety of the known past, even if it is not what you want for yourself.

Therefore knowing that when new desires start to manifest, the same you that brought them into your life, is the same you that is ready to greet them.

The egoic mind thrives in using safety and survival keep you the same. However, maintaining a strong relationship in the present moment is key to allowing your desires to manifest. Therefore, knowing that when new desires start to manifest, the same you that brought them into your life is the same you that is ready to greet them.

When you find yourself at the precipice of your dreams, your presence will welcome the change with open arms and prevent the overwhelm from setting in. Answers and responses become natural when you maintain the tone of your future and stay connected to your inner guidance.

So the art of getting what you want is also welcoming what you want. And all of that happens through presence.

The Spiral Up

When we move through embodiment, where we know exactly what our future looks like and can feel the feelings of our dreams, there can still be some friction when we transition into the real world. It is all elementary in our minds, “just act like your future self and you will have your future”, but there is so much more to it when the rubber hits the road. We are filled with old programming, beliefs, and the annoying truth that we are not invisible. When we make sudden changes, people can see them. When people see them, they often comment that you “are not the same anymore” or “you don’t act like yourself”. Privately, that is the whole point, but it is hard to explain to someone who has not been on your journey and not seen the giddy vision of your future. People can also be afraid that they will be left behind and may want your attention back in maladaptive ways.

Everytime you take a new fork in the road, you become a new you.

This is what I call the spiral. When we are embodied in our future selves, and then life happens. How you handle this life event determines whether you spiral up in your manifestation to the next level or circle flat and try again. The way to spiral upward and make progress toward your dreams is to handle each life event as if you are the embodied future self. Dropping down into presence and resonating with the frequency of the future, you move yourself further into the following timeline. Every time you take a new fork in the road, you become a new version of yourself in a new timeline.

If you fall back into your old habits, that’s okay; try again in the next conflict or challenging moment with more intention. Observing yourself from the outside can help you identify what you need to identify as. If you have a person who always tends to take you out of your future embodied self, now you have a new mantra specific to that situation or person. The best way to handle contrasting events is to envision the ideal future in your mind as you fall asleep. For example, “My loved ones adore the new me and admire the changes I have made in my life.”

As you say what you want to yourself and to source, you open a new timeline where that future exists. Command to all that it is easy to improve, and it will be.

Putting it All Together

When you desire a particular future, it is not something that you are creating; it is something you are revealing. You would not want it if you were not living it at some point to send the visions back to yourself. The way you reveal your future, become your future, and sustain your manifestations is all just presence - the glorious present moment.
